He was part of the Marsh Pride, which included lionesses and cubs. Scarface was an impressive lion, reportedly weighing around 400 pounds.
His size, appearance, and leadership made him a favorite among wildlife photographers and visitors.
Death of Scarface
On June 11, 2021, Scarface died in the Maasai Mara National Reserve. He was believed to be between 13 and 14 years old, which is a long life for a wild lion.
His death was from natural causes, most likely old age, which is rare for lions in the wild.
